Description Examples of pottery from our collection of Isle of Wight Handcraft Pottery made at the 'Carisbrooke Brick, Tile and Pottery Works' between 1926 and 1938. Prior to 1926 there was just a brickworks at this site called 'Gunville brickworks'. Samuel Saunders started the pottery works in 1926. The turquoise glazes that are a feature of later examples of this pottery were developed by Edward Jervison Bagley.
